Friday Forts

Yeah I said it, "forts" Random Tune of the Day: Scatman John 'Scatman' No need to Real Badman Never Afraid this as I'm sure we can all agree we liked this song. It wasn't cheesy. Let's all sing along "Bee bup bup bulobo... I'm a scatman! Shibidibby dee bu bullu bo, bu bullo bo" RD 'Do It Like Me' Still feeling this tune on some ridiculous levels. If I was a teenager, I'd be crushing on Martika and Troy boy. Tell ya. They're old enough, but I don't be crushing on younger girls like that. Crushing is a likkle man ting. If you're reading, holla at man innit New video: Diddy Dirty Money featuring Skepta 'Hello Good Morning Remix' Shot before the landmark performance on MTV in Glasgow. Name of show eludes me at this current moment in time. Anyway, here is the video. Don't cuss it for not being really glitz and glamour, it was a spur of the moment thing. Immense look. Hope it does big things for him because his l...

Thnking Thursday

Hulk Hogan raps Biggie's 'Juicy' Jacked from RWDMag . Such a shame that hip hop has become a parody of itself with the whole materialism and over-sexualised images (big words :D ). Anyway, WWF superstar Hulk Hogan (I preferred Ultimate Warrior if I'm honest) Def Jam Rapstar's Notorious BIG's all-time sing-along Juicy. Brooke Hogan doesn't sound bad actually. I remember Scott Storch signed her and she failed but she sounds aaaalright. I can not be the only one waiting to see what he'd say at the "And if you don't know now you know [blankety blank]." Jessie J 'Who You Are' Jessie J is an incredible talent. Pitch-perfect, powerful vocals coupled with songwriting talent good enough for high profile (Chris Brown and Miley Cyrus) US acts sure to win. She just dropped the link for her debut US single 'Who You Are'. For the full track in high quality, listen up Tune goes extremely hard!!! Would be an exceptional second single. Repea...

These Thoughts

Title inspired by this Natasha Beddingfield 'These Words' which doubles up as this today Real Badman Never Afraid UK's leading r&b Caramel Long Ride Hold tight comedy double act KG and Marston going in yet again. Willow Smith > your gran's sunday roast Jacked from PinBoard . Yeah I went there. And mi nah tek back no talk no time. I saw this chick on BBC's The One Show back on the promo trail for Karate Kid. The whole family were on there but she commanded the show. Heard the song and thought "Damn, she went in with this ridiculous banger. Wonder what she sounds like live..." Well here is the live performance. Gobsmacked! Tinchy + gang proclaim "Game Over" So all the talk has been who has the best verse. I don't think anyone did a bad job really. Wouldn't say anyone did an extremely good verse either hence why I think there are so many different opinions on who has the best verse. Make of that what you will. For me, I'm gonna sa...

Tuesday's Thoughts

This was meant to be yesterday's post but for obvious reasons (death of legend Gregory Isaacs) I didn't post it. RIP Gregry (no typo / Jamaicans will understand we don't pronounce the o in GregOry... fi wha'?) Tune of the Day : Gregory Isaacs 'What a Feeling' Another Sly & Robbie produced hit. Greatest duo in music history? Quite possibly. Yes, this plus Tune In and Soon Forward from yesterday are all Gregry and Sly & Robbie songs. 12 year-old Lil McKell sprats Shanni Cuppcake This is jokes! Yout' is mackin'. The end could have been better though. Please say he has one with Sadie Ama. Regular readers will know why. p.s. I'm bringing "sprattin'" back. Sprattin = to court a lady. You know we "speak in slang like this" NBA Jam is back! Epic game as a yout'! If you never experienced it on the SNES or arcade, your life is incomplete. Doubt this will live up to it to be honest. The commentary w...

That Friday Feelin

Well it's Friday and I'm going to attempt at doing a thoughts of the day plus a FlashBack Friday. If I'm honest, thoughts of the day can suffer today because it's an everyday thing and I LOVE doing FlashBack Friday's! Pound Sterling the Hussalla kicks nahlijjj This man has his name stamped as a Channel U star. Remember his first video? Anyway, I think I've just changed my mind on the subject to post for FlashBack Friday. See, just like that I get inspiration. Back on track, interviews alright still but he drops a gem when talking about fake rappers spending too much time talking to cameras on Grime Daily (whilst on Grime Daily) instead of "doing this thing". Quote of the Day: "When I was really, really doin' dis ting I didn't see Match of the Day for 7 years! And then I clocked, 'Rah, it's been 7 years I aint seen Match of the Day'." RockCorps give a little love Saw this on Mad News a while back but ...

Back to life

Yesterday was MOBO day over here at Marvin Sparks dot blog spot dot com. Today we resume normal posting. To read the MeView x TweetView (Mine + Twitter reaction) click here . Hilarious post. My timeline was jokes. That's the cyber world. In real life I interviewed one of my idols but that's to land here in the near future. Throwback Tune of the Day : NorthStar 'On a Rise' This tune was ahead of its time. Now road rap is doing a lot, this would fit in nicely. I feel it's criminally underrated (get it, criminally underrated? What they are talking about in the song obviously...). Spray goes in on the first verse with real emotive rhymes, Chyna's goes hard with the vocals, Para was on fire them times and the video was good too. Para needs to make a comeback. Sorry? Pardon? I'mma set the scene, they're on the set, behind the scenes of a movie that obviously hasn't finished and asked "So for the people who haven't seen the film yet tell us about y...

Thoughts of Tuesday

Tune and Video of the Day: Willow Smith Very rarely is hype justified. This is more than justified. Big up Willow's hair piece Warning: This is not for you skinny jean, plunging neckline t-shirt wearers like it isn't for us baldheads. That includes you Amber Rose Throwback tune of the day: Destiny's Child 'Bootylicious' Rockwilder remix My gawsh! I remember when this dropped. Regular MTV Base and Kiss rotation. I didn't like the original. Cos I'm a badman I can say that and not care what you think. In fact the sole reason why I can post a song aimed at chicks and call it Throwback Tune of the Day signifies my levels badminism in itself. It solidifies my badmanification. Yes, I made up those two words. The beauty of speaking slang like this. And as banging as Beyoncé is today, she isn't better than this video. This, Work It Out and Check Up On It are my favourite videos for watching Beyoncé. Her super sexy swag is off the meat rack Tinchy Strada? Hahaha ...

Back like Bacon Back (no swine)

So I failed to post over the weekend. Didn't have the time. I feel like a failure. One day very soon we won't use this (no [insert word]) disclaimer. It's dead. I'll wait for some uncool dude to use it. "Pow! Xmas num-ber 1, POW!" courtesy of Lethal B's twitter So Lethal B/Lethal Bizzle/Jizzy Tissue wants to recreate Rage Against The Machine's anti-pop Christmas number 1 last year. Don't frown like "Oh that song's old" it's a stone cold classic that will never get old. And anyway, Rage Against the Machine's song was 10 years old. Peter Andre's 'Mysterious Girl' got re-released in '06(?) after his appearance on I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here so it's possible even though it got top 5 in '95(?). I'm for this idea. Not sure about this talk of re-doing the version. That's like So Solid doing a new 21 Seconds. Some classics should never be touched. Kanye's album cover banned inspired by ...

I don't mind Monday's

Once I get up out of bed anyway. At least I'm awake another day! Today's post will have more varied inspirations than yesterdays X-Factor thoughts of the day . Gotta go from Adulthood to Anuvahood Doesn't quite have the same ring. One syllable out. Will work on that for next time. Noel Clarke isn't happy about Adam Deacon writing this spin off from Clarke's successful movies. I wanna know why Adam Deacon's slogan is "My Size" when no one's his size? Maybe that's the point of it, but still. He's about 5' and some loose change. (disclaimer: those who have seen me SHAT YA MOUT!) Simpsons: Banksy takeover "Street artist Banksy has turned director for a controversial new opening sequence of The Simpsons episode, MoneyBart, featuring an Asian sweatshop." Continue reading 'ere A very good look. Had to read up to see what his involvement was though. When I heard about it I thought there will be The Simpsons graffiti'd on a w...
