New Nike World Cup Advert x Flashback Friday

[Shouts to @mrviews aka 1Xtra royalty] I've been impatiently waiting to see what Nike have to offer for this years World Cup advert. Features appearances from Nike's elite footballers, and a few other special guests. Scheduled to be shown during the Champions League final, which for the first time in my life is on a Saturday. Yes, that plank Platini moved it from its usual Wednesday spot. WASTEMAN! Incredible!!! I love this! Not for the same reason I loved the classics that you'll see further on in this post. What this lacks in the skills department, it more than makes up for in stroyline, cinematography, comedy, and cameos. Thought I'd turn this into the first Flashback Friday for the year. I enjoyed those, may pick it back up again. Check out the one I did on 90s adverts here Not sure if everyone can relate, but to me the star power of footballers has dwindled in comparison to the old days (90's). I'd say that's mainly down to the fact we see most players...

Aside from Keri Hilson's sistrin dem (twins/humps) This is sick!!! I would cop this app. if I had an iPhone. Straight lullaby's I'd be singing to di gyaldem at night, and I'd get away with hitting bum notes And Lil' Kim didn't look bad either. Friday Flashback: Iconic 90s Advert tunes

Soooo, I kinda missed out last week (apologies, did an interview which will be up shortly). I may not be able to do this weekly but I promise update this fortnightly. Todays Flashback Friday (click for previous episodes) is dedicated to iconic advert songs. A time when adverts made me sing-a-long and remember the brand through their evil, eeevil subliminal messages sent using infectious melodies combined with quick-and-easy-to-learn lyrics. Sadly we now hear such lyrical dexterity on them levels by the likes of Hip-hop's elite (damn shame). I'm sure there was more emphasis on songs back then. Disclaimer: some may have been made + initially aired in the 80s, but I'm sure they were shown during the 90s. Some songs weren't exclusive to the brand, but were associated with said brand. If you disagree, gweh! Squeeze it my selecta-ta-ta-ta (fades out) Every real 90s kid (remembers majority of the 90s) should remember this Whatever happened to this brand? "Set the juice......
