Thinking it's Tuesday

Chronik 'Ring'

This tune is a madness!!!!!!!! Chronik is a Slew Dem member along with Tempa T. This is Tempz's flow and delivery. Not sure who came with the style first cos I'm not grime like that. Either way, this tune is a proper hype. Logan ended his show with this a couple weeks ago sending the grime fraternity on Twitter into a frezy

"Guys think that they're sendin' for me
SEND FOR ME THEN IF THEY'RE SENDING FOR ME
I dare one of them to physically touch
Catch man on the phone cheesing in JD
You thought you was hype that night
STAMP!"

RIIIIIINNNNNNGGGGGGGGG!!!

Orange Hill Production 'Dan Man'

Ras Kwame and Jnr. Tubby, son of dub pioneer King Tubby, to form Orange Hill Productions. Don't know what Orange Hill signifies? Hint: Ras Kwame has dreadlocks. Together they've teamed up with Richie Dan and Chino, son of Freddie MGregor/brother to leading dancehall producer Stephen McGregor for a 2010 version of UKG (UK Garage) classic Dan Man.

ORANGE HILL PRODUCTIONS-DAN MAN FT. CHINO & RITCHIE DAN(ORIGINAL MASTER WAV.) by ORANGE HILL PRODUCTIONS

Sounds a bit Pon Di Floor-ish innit? Can't find the original on YouTube. Tune knocked.

As with everything there is a dubstep version, and like always, I am not complaining.

New vid: Robyn 'Dancehall Queen'

(Leading on from Major Lazer) Produced by Diplo of Major Lazer fame (yes I know he worked with MIA and Santigold etc. before but no one cares as much as they do Major Lazer). When I say new, it's a few days old I think.

It's funny; the song's called Dancehall Queen but the beat or riddim (have to keep it authentic) is closer to traditional reggae. Needs some toasting in the essence of I-Roy and U-Roy.

Bangs puts things into perspective

Most Facebook users will have seen their UK friends change profile pictures to cartoon characters in aid of NSPCC. Bangs put the whole farce into perspective here

Look at his trim for goodness sake.

(The "Haffi get di pu**y but..." is taken from this classic by Sizzla. Not for the feint/faint hearted)

I watched this and thought of a random question: mandem, Onika "Nicki Minaj" Maraj asks you to marry her but you have to change YOUR last name. Do you accept?

I haven't reached a decision yet... She's way too much for me. No lie, I'd be whipped like a thoroughbred (horse) in the final furlong on her. No woman should have all that power.

Another question that I've had for a while is would I rather go out with a girl that A. loves music and raps or B. one that loves football and chants. I think I'll go with A. on that

Heard about Chuck D wilin' out?

Public Enemy frontman goes in on something I can relate to. Made these tweets whilst watching MTV in South Africa. Read it here. I say the same thing about watching certain shows (The Hills and that crap stuff)when I'm in Jamaica. It's pushing a lifestyle that isn't really one attained by many people's like it's the norm. Even the music videos. Lot of people losing their identity. World's becoming one place.

50 Cent premieres Rick Ross Baby Mother Sex Tape

Fifty responded with a (lame) diss to which Rick Ross issued a 24hour deadline to make another. Fif' declared war, telling Ricky he's going to end his career Fiddy's first step was to interview Ricky's first baby moms, Tia, talking slick about Ricky being broke, which was later backed up by a financial affadavit released by Fif'. Took her and her bestie shopping for mink coats. Second was going to head of Def Jam South DJ "We The Best" Khaled's mum's house and place of work. Why? Fif' claims Kh...

Marvin Sparks x Raekwon interview

Wu-Tang's in-house "Chef" better known as Raekwon proved he is still a force to be mentioned alongside the hottest rappers in the hip hop game with the release of Only Built For Cuban Linx... pt. II - sequel to his 1995 debut album. Marvin Sparks caught up with the hip hop legend to discuss rapping for drug dealers, people caring "more about stats than raps", his inclusion in MTV's Top 10 Hottest Rappers list, and converting to Islam. Marvin Sparks: It has been almost fifteen years since the first Only Built For Cuban Linx, an album that was a 5-mic classic when The Source magazine held weight. Why did you decide make a sequel?

White band win Reggae Grammy x Koffee x Skillibeng

So a white American reggae band called Soja won the Best Reggae album award at the Grammy's? And you care because? You feel Jamaicans are losing reggae because the Grammy's (a white institution) gave their white American man award to a white American reggae band? You blame the Jamaican government for not showing enough love and support to the music because this is the result? But you don't realise you are giving the Grammy's that much power and don't see where the problem lies? Well let me tell you; the problem is within you. I understand the outrage. Jamaicans built the music and are rarely compensated for all the hard graft. There have been countless examples of the music being used by someone else, often to better results because we live in an ignorant and racist Western world. Historically, white reggae artists like The Police or UB40 are able to achieve better results in the white man's world than reggae artists that are far superior to them. Bruno Mars , J...
