We are Wednesday

Jessie J on Jools

This song will feature BoB. I feel this would have been better as the first single over here in the UK.

Went INNNN!

Rihanna on a dancehall vibe

Now you know me, Monday to Sunday iRep reggae & dancehall. When I heard this a smile came upon my face. Good to see Rihanna coming back over. Pon Di Replay seems like such a long time ago. Now all she needs to do is get a feature from our artists and work with our producers.

Bonus, jacked this from ThatGrapeJuice

At approx 1:59. Oh. My. Days. These thoughts

fiX-Factor

Yeah we're back at it again. Frist Gamu-gate (autotune), then Gamu-gate (not selected), and Gamu-gate again (deportation)... But we've also had Katie-gate before (Jazz singer linked with Simon Cowell). This new one is jacked from ThatGrapeJuice, people are complaining about TreyC aka "Baby got back" eviction on Sunday. Had it gone to deadlock Katie would have been sent home, blah blah but if people liked TreyC so much, why was she in the bottom 2 again?

But as I read this article I noticed a trend between Cheryl Cole and Big Brother winner Jade Goody. Both were made on reality TV, went on to have extreme success, now that same format bringing them back down? Not completely because Cheryl still did well on the charts. Actually, naaaahhh I take it back momentarily.

Uni students fight the power

Didn't think this would actually happen on the scale it is. They're protesting in Central London against the increase of uni fees.

Violence Breaks Out On Student Protest March

Students protesting about a planned rise in university fees have smashed windows and started a fire at Millbank Tower in central London.

An estimated 30,000 students from towns and cities across the UK have travelled to the capital for the rally which was organised by the National Union of Students (NUS) and University and College Union (UCU).

Speaking from the scene, Sky News' senior correspondent Michelle Clifford said the police were not present in large numbers when the violence broke out among some of the students adjacent to the Conservative Party headquarters.

Bangs goes down South (no blowies... sadly)

You may have seen Bangs goes rap posted here before, may not. Either way, here is the new one

TI 'Whatever You Like' (damn, without the beat these lyrics are absolutely garbage aren't they?) as covered by Bangs ni(derogatory word for black people)aaaaas!

Speaking of TI

TI featuring Jazmine Sullivan 'Dying In Your Arms'

This goes hard. Jazz works the hook nicely. Yet another Reggae-tinged song. Just thought I'd point that out. If you wanna know how, the bass and piano stabs. Best song I've heard from TI in a while.

Random Tune of the Day: Joan Osborne 'One of Us'

This came on the radio today. Love this song. Concept is deep

Marvin Sparks x Raekwon interview

Wu-Tang's in-house "Chef" better known as Raekwon proved he is still a force to be mentioned alongside the hottest rappers in the hip hop game with the release of Only Built For Cuban Linx... pt. II - sequel to his 1995 debut album. Marvin Sparks caught up with the hip hop legend to discuss rapping for drug dealers, people caring "more about stats than raps", his inclusion in MTV's Top 10 Hottest Rappers list, and converting to Islam. Marvin Sparks: It has been almost fifteen years since the first Only Built For Cuban Linx, an album that was a 5-mic classic when The Source magazine held weight. Why did you decide make a sequel?

50 Cent premieres Rick Ross Baby Mother Sex Tape

If you aren't familiar with the beef between Pimpin Curly and Officer Ricky, get familyar! Originates from Rick Ross dissin 50 on The Inkredibles produced banger Mafia Music. "We're steppin on your crew 'til the motherfucker's crushed And making sweet love to every woman that you lust I love to pay her bills, cant wait to pay her rent Curtis Jackson baby mother aint askin for a cent Burn the house down, you gotta buy another..." Fifty responded with a (lame) diss to which Rick Ross issued a 24hour deadline to make another. Fif' declared war, telling Ricky he's going to end his career Fiddy's first step was to interview Ricky's first baby moms, Tia, talking slick about Ricky being broke, which was later backed up by a financial affadavit released by Fif'. White band win Reggae Grammy x Koffee x Skillibeng

So a white American reggae band called Soja won the Best Reggae album award at the Grammy's? And you care because? You feel Jamaicans are losing reggae because the Grammy's (a white institution) gave their white American man award to a white American reggae band? You blame the Jamaican government for not showing enough love and support to the music because this is the result? But you don't realise you are giving the Grammy's that much power and don't see where the problem lies? Well let me tell you; the problem is within you. I understand the outrage. Jamaicans built the music and are rarely compensated for all the hard graft. There have been countless examples of the music being used by someone else, often to better results because we live in an ignorant and racist Western world. Historically, white reggae artists like The Police or UB40 are able to achieve better results in the white man's world than reggae artists that are far superior to them. Bruno Mars , J...
